Child Safety

Your child’s safety comes first

Every family deserves to know their child is in safe, capable hands.

Western Sydney Family Day Care operates within the National Quality Framework – the same national system of standards that every approved education and care service in Australia is held to, and measured against by an independent regulator. It governs how children are kept safe, cared for, and supported to learn.

Our child safe standards cover:

  • Educational program and practice
  • Children’s health and safety
  • Physical environment
  • Staffing requirements
  • Relationships with children
  • Collaborative partnerships with families and communities
  • Governance and leadership

Guiding the program itself are the two national learning frameworks – the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and My Time, Our Place (MTOP) – which shape the play, activities and routines your child takes part in each day.

Qualified, trained, ready

The standards are only as strong as the people behind them. Every educator holds at least a Certificate III in Children’s Services, and many a Diploma or an Early Childhood Teaching degree, backed by regular in-service training. Each also keeps their First Aid, Asthma and Anaphylaxis qualifications current (renewed every three years) along with annual CPR training, so they know exactly what to do in an emergency.

Safety you can count on

Before an educator joins our network, they — and every adult over 18 living in their home — must hold a valid Working With Children Check from the NSW Office of the Children’s Guardian.

Every educator and staff member is also a Mandatory Reporter, legally bound to act on any child protection concern, and completes regular refresher training to stay current. More details can be found in our Child Protection Policy, or simply ask your educator or our team.

Staying close to your child’s day

Being a parent doesn’t stop at drop-off. Once your child is enrolled, you’ll have access to the Parent Portal through Harmony, our online platform, where you can see the program and your child’s individual observations. Your suggestions and feedback shape the program and daily routine too – the care works best when families are part of it.

Western Sydney Family Day Care operates under the Children (Education and Care Services National Law Application) Act 2010, the Education and Care Services National Regulations 2011, and is assessed against the National Quality Standard.
